This 1947 Dodge Dump Truck, I call "The Resting Place" hangs in my private collection above my HisWorks Photography artwork dest in Kapolei, Hawaii as a 10.50" x 16.25" Metal Print! 7/9/2020
I knew when I first took this truck image, for some strange reason, it had some special meaning for me. Now I know... we were born in the same year, 1947. I have shot this truck several times looking to improve on my last time I shot it. Here it is in late winter/early spring and all the leaves are on the ground exposing the bare trees so we can see the dairy barn silo and other farm out buildings with greater ease.
The old 1947 Dodge Dump Truck that has found "The Resting Place" under these Oak trees was first purchased from Curtis Sand, a sand producing operation, just down Georgia Hwy 15 from here. This was the first dump truck owned by Curtis Sand to haul sand for them, then years later was sold to the Boswell's where is saw many more years of faithful service. The Boswell Dairy Farm is one of the best known farms in Greene County and operated continually for more than 70 years. This beautiful farm scene with colors of blue in the sky, green grass, rusty truck, red fuel tanks and white buildings, combine to make an image to beautify either an office or home and be enjoyed in timeless beauty.
