Durhamtown Plantation is a family run farm that was started in 1793 that is located approximately 12 miles (19 km) off the Crawfordville exit 148 off I-20 east of Atlanta, Georgia. Up until 2002 owner, Mike McCommons leased out his 8,000 acres (3,200 ha) of land to hunters and harvested the timber. In 2002 McCommons decided to turn it into a Sportsman resort. On his property McCommons created many trails for dirt bikes, ATVs, side by sides and 4-wheel drive vehicles. He also set aside some of his land for a Sportsman area where people can shoot guns, go hunting and fishing.
McCommons created over 150 miles (240 km) of one way trails for dirt bikes, ATVs and side-by-sides. Durhamtown has six motocross tracks, a super motocross track, 1⁄4 mile (0.40 km) and 1⁄8 mile (0.20 km) drag strips, oval track, single track and a freestyle motocross park. Every year Durhamtown hosts Motocross races from pee-wee/beginner racers up to the more advanced expert racers.
