As I was setting up to shoot this early morning sunrise image on Lake Oconee, GA a bass boat comes out of the silence to my right with two men and a dog. I just had to put them into my sunrise reflections image, instead of waiting and simply letting them pass on by. They glided by like a ghost in the night, casting and hoping to catch that ever elusive large mouth bass.
In this shot, they're gliding on by, and it is getting closer to sunrise.... The sun you see in the clouds is a reflection, as the real sun has Not risen yet. The most color will appears in the sky and clouds BEFORE the sun rises, usually about 10 minutes before. After the sun rises the color gets washed out by the sunlight but often you will get a nice sun line reflection across the water.
