Greensboro, Georgia is where this photographer/artist grew up, played high school football, ran track, played baseball and where my heritage, for generations comes from on both sides of my family. Greensboro was a place where everybody knew everybody "back in the day" and many families were kin. Greensboro was a place where everybody knew you and you couldn't do anything without it getting back to your parents. Greensboro's town characters were unique and our love for each other was genuine and sincere.
The town of Greensboro is the county seat of Greene County, Georgia, United States
Greensboro was founded around 1780. In 1787, it was designated seat of the newly formed Greene County. It was incorporated as a town in 1803 and as a city in 1855.
Greensboro is the county seat and hometown of Lake Oconee. Greensboro is steeped in Southern history and tradition, and rich with elegant antebellum homes and churches. This is a picture of small town America. Greensboro's "Gaol" (jail) is one of the oldest penal structures in Georgia. The beautiful architectural and historical buildings in the downtown area are filled with enticing wares, featuring antiques, clothing, gifts, art and jewelry.
Lake Oconee features more than 400 miles of shoreline and is an outdoorsman's paradise. Lake Oconee is home of 10 championship golf courses designed by some of the greatest golf course designers in the world.
